About the project
Chevy Tile & Stone installed tile for Fiorella, a restaurant on Clement Street in the Richmond District. The photos on this page follow the work while it was under way: white subway tile on the walls around the pass-through and in the back of house, preparation of the dining room floor, and a white hexagon mosaic laid across the dining room.
The signature detail is the restaurant’s name, spelled out in the floor. The letter shapes were cut out of the white hexagon sheets and filled with black hexagons, so the lettering sits in the same grid as the rest of the floor.
The same layout approach carries over to homes. Hexagon mosaic, subway tile and custom lettering or inlays work in bathrooms, entries and kitchens as well as restaurants.
All photos on this page were taken during installation and show work in progress.
