A neighbor introduced me to a tile setter, and he asked if I wanted to come work for him. That was it. I was born and raised in San Jose and that’s where I started in 2001 — first day on the job I grabbed a bucket, mixed up some grout, and started grouting floors.
In 2004 I moved to San Francisco, got my contractor’s license, and started Chevy Tile & Stone. Since then I’ve worked in most neighborhoods in the city and across Marin — Richmond, Pacific Heights, Sunset, Noe Valley, SoMa — and I still like the work.
